Mantramandala is a techno-artistic experiment to develop a very simple, low- tech interface
designed to help the visitor to get altered states of consciousness. We take as inspiration
the theory of chakras, and their relation to sound, but adapting it to these new times. Each
pattern goes with a new mantra, that are related to a chakra. The sounds were pronounced by a
very simple text-to-speech converter,and were edited with a basic sound editor. Both patterns
and sounds were created following basic rules about how do we perceive, mixing Indian classical
knowledge related to mantras and mandalas and new discoveries from cognitive sciences.
